The world's first night zoo, the Night Safari exposes you to the nocturnal wildlife, where you can see how the animals behave in their natural habitats at night as you explore the different trails.

Keeping to the City in a Garden concept, Gardens by the Bay is located along the Marina Bay and spans 101 hectares, it comprises of three spaces - Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central.

In 2012, Bay South opened, spanning across 54 hectares; it is the largest waterfront garden. The key features include 2 cooled conservatories (Flower Dome and Cloud Forest), offering tranquil oasis, 18 Supertrees and the OCBC Skyway and themed outdoor gardens.

Flower Dome

Showcasing more than 87,000 plants from the cool-dry Mediterranean climate, you will find a spectacular array of plants as you journey through different regions of the world, including South Africa, California and parts of Spain and Italy. Look out for the changing flower displays, which reflect different seasons, festivals and themes throughout the year.

Cloud Forest

Showcasing plants from the cool-moist Tropical Montane regions, the Cloud Forest houses more than 130,000 plants and has the world's highest indoor waterfall at 35 metres tall. A mysterious world veiled in mist, you can learn about the different biodiversity and environmental threats as you journey through nine unique zones, including Lost World, Secret Garden and Crystal Mountain. Enjoy an aerial view of the canopy and mountainside below via the two walkways in the clouds.

Supertrees

Standing at 25-50 metres tall, you will find a cluster of these unique trees at the Supertree Grove, 11 of which are embedded with environmentally sustainable functions to harvest solar energy. Take a stroll along the OCBC Skyway, a 128-metre long walkway that connects two of the Supertrees and enjoy amazing views of the Gardens. Chill out at the Supertree-top bistro and be captivated by the panoramic views of the Gardens and Marina Bay area. Don't miss the Garden Rhapsody show of dazzling lights and sounds as the sun sets, which takes place at 7.45pm and 8.45pm nightly.

Heritage Gardens

A collection of four themed gardens that will take you through the history and culture of Singapore's three main ethnic groups and colonial past. The Malay garden, 'a reflection of Community' emphasizes the role of edible fruits and medicinal plants used by the local Malay population. The Colonial Garden, 'a Reflection of Ambition' covers the issues of plant transportation and profitable crops. Along the Indian Garden, keep an eye out for the decorative motifs as they depict fantasies of the supposed natural origins of certain animals from plants; while in the Chinese Garden look out for the Sacred Tree, a medicinal tree with many uses.

Nestled near Singapore's bustling business district, Chinatown is Singapore's largest historic quarter, where our early Chinese migrants lived. A walk down Chinatown’s narrow streets with their picturesque shophouses, now repurposed as shops, hipster joints, restaurants and offices, reveals Singapore’s rich Chinese heritage, as well as the country’s journey from a free trading port to one of the world’s most progressive economies.

Chinatown can be divided into four main districts - Kreta Ayer, Telok Ayer, Tanjong Pagar and Bukit Pasoh, each with a distinctive flavour of its own. The heart of activity is in the Trengganu Street/Smith Street area. Wander around the colourful network of narrow streets and alleys where you will witness craftsmen peddle traditional crafts like calligraphy, painted masks and embroidered silk at reasonable prices; while medicine stores mix exotic ingredients to treat all sorts of ailments.

In 2014, Chinatown opened Chinatown Food Street, located at Smith Street. It has been refurbished to showcase a mix of local street food and restaurant options, along with programmes and interactive events which locals and visitors can participate in. To learn more about the early Chinese migrants, visit the newly rennovated Chinatown Heritage Centre and journey through the museum as you discover insights into their daily lives. If shopping is your specialty, then a visit to the night market will be right up your alley, as there are more than 200 market stalls lining Pagoda, Trengganu and Sago streets, selling items such as dragon candles, street opera masks or traditional clothing. Be mesmerized by the beautiful architecture and elegantly-restored classic details along Keong Saik Road, which have been conserved as part of the Bukit Pasoh area, but also demonstrates the juxtaposition of heritage and modern.

With its golden domes and Islamic-style architecture, the Malaysian equivalent to Buckingham Palace, Royal King's Palace (Istana Negara) attracts thousands of visitors. Even though you can't explore the palace, at the Royal Museum, located on the palace grounds, you can learn about the Malaysian monarchy.

 The Basics 

The Royal King's Palace serves as the Supreme King of Malaysia's official residence, which moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2011. The palace symbolizes an important part of the heritage of Malaysia and is featured on most sightseeing tours of Kuala Lumpur.

 As part of an express tour, time - pressed travelers can visit the Petronas Twin Towers and the Batu Caves or add the landmark to a customizable itinerary during a private tour.  The old Istana Negara is located alongside Jalan Syed Putra on a slope in Bukit Petaling overlooking the Klang River. Its grounds are not open to the public, so usually the Main Palace Entrance is the place where tourists photograph. It was originally a two-story mansion owned by local Chinese millionaire Chan Wing, also called the Big House.

Masjid Jamek Mosque, also known as Friday Mosque, is recognized as the oldest Islamic place of worship in Kuala Lumpur. Overlooking the Klang River, it offers breathtaking photo opportunities for travelers due to the combination of ancient Moorish, Islam and Mughal architectural styles, verdant surroundings, and distant views of KL’s other iconic landmarks.

Built in 1907 by British architech Arthur Benison Hubback, Masjid Jamek Mosque served as the main centre of workship for the local Muslim community until the Masjid Negara (National Mosque) was officially opened to the public in 1965. Surrounding the main prayer hall are three domes, the tallest of which measures at 20 metres, flanked by two brick minarets that stand over 25 metres tall.

There is also an Islamic Experience Center just outside the mosque, which houses a number of informative displays in English, for those who want to know more about Islam. Meanwhile, major attractions like Central Market, Chinatown KL, and Petaling Street are within easy walking distance from the mosque.
